Three young UT researchers passed international selection to attend Lindau Meeting

Estonian Academy of Sciences organised a national competition in Estonia in autumn 2017 and based on the results, submitted three candidates to the international final round. 

1. Uku Haljasorg, PhD, Research Fellow of Molecular Immunology;
2. Kristi Huik, PhD, Research Fellow of Medical Virology and Microbiology;
3. Liis Lemsalu, doctoral student, Junior Researcher at the National Institute for Health Development.

All three were successful in the fierce international competition and will be able to participate in the Lindau Meeting on 24–29 June. This year’s meeting is dedicated to physiology and medicine. The key topics are the inner clock, gene therapy, the role of science in the post-factual era, and scientific publishing practices.

The 68^th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting will set two records: a total of 43 Nobel laureates and 600 young top researchers from 84 countries take part in it – the event has never been so diverse.

The meetings of young researchers (under 35) and Nobel laureates have been organised in Lindau since 1951. The goal of the meetings is to encourage scientists of different generations to share ideas and experiences, to network and inspire each other.
